Haridwar police arrested six individuals, including two brothers, for running a fake currency racket. The gang was caught with counterfeit notes worth INR 2.25 lakh in INR 500 denominations, along with laptops, printers, and other equipment. The arrests were made after a police team intercepted two bikes carrying four suspects near Suman Nagar. Upon questioning, the suspects revealed they had been printing fake notes in a rented room in Dehradun. The gang circulated the fake notes in crowded markets, especially targeting elderly shopkeepers. Two of the accused, Mohit and Nikhil, were previously jailed for similar crimes.
