The Rajasthan High Court recently acquitted a man who was wrongly convicted and incarcerated for 12 years over his wife's murder, The High Court also directed the state government to give the man Rs 25 lakh as compensation. The High Court set aside the man's conviction and asked the government to pay compensation to the man for the humiliation he faced as his 12 years of life were wasted in jail due to "malicious prosecution".
