Kalpana Soren, the wife of jailed former chief minister of Jharkhand Hemant Soren, submitted her candidature to contest for the state's Gandey assembly seat on Monday, April 29, 2024. The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has fielded the latter to contest from Gandey assembly seat, for which the by-polls are scheduled to be held on May 20.
