The Karnataka High Court recently allowed a Hindu woman to reside with her Muslim husband, whom she had met through social media. The high court bench of Justices S Sunil Dutt Yadav and Venkatesh Naik T said that since the major woman declined to live with her mother, was married and was studying, no adjudication was called for. "In view of detenue produced before the court and she decline to go with her mother and the fact that detenue is a major and studying in II Year B.Com and that her marriage is performed with respondent no.6, no further adjudication is called for in the matter," the order dated May 9 said. The court observed while hearing a habeas corpus petition filed by the woman's mother.
