As monsoon fury grips various parts of India, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Mumbai, Thane, and Palghar in Maharashtra, anticipating heavy downpours. Overnight rainfall has severely disrupted public transport services, causing significant inconvenience for commuters. Flood-prone areas are experiencing heightened difficulties. In response, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has mobilized teams across Maharashtra. Besides their usual presence in Mumbai and Nagpur, NDRF units are now stationed in Vasai (Palghar), Thane, Ghatkopar, Powai (Kurla), Mahad (Raigad), Khed and Chiplun (Ratnagiri), Kudal (Sindhudurg), Kolhapur, Sangli, and Satara.
