Indian Coast Guard Director General Rakesh Pal passed away on Sunday in Chennai after suffering a cardiac arrest. He was in discussions at INS Adyar regarding preparations for Defence Minister Rajnath Singh's visit when he suddenly experienced chest pain. Pal was immediately rushed to Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital (RGGGH) at around 2:30 pm. Despite medical efforts, he did not respond to treatment and was declared dead at approximately 7:00 pm.Β Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh are expected to visit RGGGH to pay their respects to the late Coast Guard chief.Β Rakesh Pal Appointed 25th Director General of Indian Coast Guard.
