Surat: 4 Workers Including Supervisor Die After Toxic Gas Inhalation While Cleaning Septic Tank at Jewellery Manufacturing Unit

Four workers died on Sunday morning after inhaling toxic gases while cleaning a septic tank at a jewellery manufacturing unit in Surat's Ashwini Kumar area, authorities confirmed. The victims-comprising three labourers and a supervisor-collapsed shortly after entering the tank, which collects waste from the jewellery cleaning process. Deputy Commissioner of Police Alok Kumar stated that emergency fire services extracted the individuals and shifted them to a hospital, where they were declared dead. Preliminary investigations indicate that the team lacked mandatory safety equipment.
