Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati, the Shankaracharya of Jyotirmath, visited "Matoshree" in Mumbai at the request of Shiv Sena (UBT) Chief Uddhav Thackeray. During his interaction with the media, Swami Avimukteshwaranand expressed his support for Thackeray and spoke about the "betrayal" he faced. “We follow the Hindu religion and believe in ‘Punya’ (virtue) and ‘Paap’ (sin). ‘Vishwasghat’ (betrayal) is considered one of the biggest sins, and this is what has happened to Uddhav Thackeray. He called me, and I came. He welcomed me, and we expressed our pain over the betrayal done to him. Our pain will not go away until he becomes Chief Minister again,” said Swami Avimukteshwaranand.
