CM Mamata Banerjee Demands Bharat Ratna For Amitabh Bachchan at 28th Kolkata International Film Festival
FYI, Bharat Ratna is the highest civilian award of the Republic of India. The award is conferred in recognition of exceptional service/performance of the highest order, without distinction of race, occupation, position or sex.
At the inaugural ceremony of 28th Kolkata International Film festival, CM Mamata Banerjee demanded for a Bharat Ratna for legendary actor, Amitabh Bachchan. She said, "Although not officially, but from Bengal, we will raise this demand to honour Amitabh Bacchan with the Bharat Ratna award."
