The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday, March 7, said that day temperatures are likely to continue to remain above normal by 8 to 12 degrees Celsisus over Jammu-Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh; by 6-8 degrees Celsisu over remaining parts of plains of Northwest India during the next four days till March 9 and decrease thereafter by 5-7 degrees Celsius during subsequent two days. The weather agency further said that scattered light rainfall/snowfall is likely over Western Himalayan Region between March 9-11 under the influence of fresh Western Disturbances. That said, the weather forecasting service Windy has not predicted any rainfall in Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai and Bengaluru for today, March 8. Similarly, no rainfall warning has been issued for Hyderabad and Shimla for Sunday. Meanwhile, Kolkata is expected to receive 0.2 to 0.3 mm of rainfall on March 8.
