The West Bengal Health Department has suspended Sandeep Ghosh, former Principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, following his arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Alongside the suspension, Ghosh has been removed from the West Bengal Medical Council and its panels, including the ethics committees. His suspension comes after mounting pressure from junior doctors, who had long demanded his removal but saw no action from the state government until now.
