Union Minister of Earth Sciences and Food Processing Industries Kiren Rijiju of BJP has emerged victorious from Arunachal Pradesh West Lok Sabha constituency, as per ECI data. Kiren Rijiju has defeated his closest rival Congress’ Nabam Tuki. In 2019, Rijiju had secured a vote share of 63.02%, while his opponent Nabam Tuki polled 14.22% of the votes. In 2014, the Union minister had wrested the constituency from Congress MP Takam Sanjoy. The Arunachal West seat, consisting of 33 scheduled tribe reserved constituencies, went to polls in the first phase on April 19, registering a voter turnout of 70.11%.
