On Tuesday, September 17, Mumbai Police charged a woman biker under several sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for abusing traffic cops as seen in a viral video of Mumbai's Bandra-Worli Sea Link on September 15. On its X (formerly known as Twitter) account, Mumbai Traffic Police posted a tweet about the incident, stating that the woman bike rider was charged under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code for violating traffic rules. "Just because you love bike rides, doesn’t mean you can take the law for a ride! Don’t ride like no one’s watching, we certainly are"! "This guest, was hosted suitably with sections 353, 186, 279, 336 & 129 of the Indian Penal Code", said Mumbai Traffic Police in a post. On September 15, a 26-year-old woman rode her bike on Mumbai's Bandra-Worli Sea Link, where two-wheelers are prohibited. When traffic cops attempted to stop her, she verbally abused them and refused to comply with their orders.
