Afghanistan will look to put up a better show this time around, having pulled off memorable performances in the last edition of the tournament which was won by Sri Lanka. They open their campaign against Bangladesh on September 3.
Naveen Ul-Haq missed out as the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) announced its 16-member squad for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023 tournament. The team on expected lines will be led by Hashmatullah Shahidi and has the likes of Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmad in their ranks. Afghanistan begin their Asia Cup 2023 campaign against Bangladesh in Lahore on September 3. All-rounder Karim Janat made a return to the ODI setup after 2017.
