Babar Azam apologised later on after earlier calling Saud Shakeel a debutant at the toss before Pakistan vs Afghanistan 3rd ODI on Saturday, August 26. The Pakistan captain said that the middle-order batter was making his debut in the match. But Shakeel had already played five ODIs prior to this match, with Babar Azam himself handing him his debut cap in 2021. Later, the Pakistan skipper admitted that he made a mistake while speaking during the post-match presentation.
