Pakistan had to suffer a second heartbreak in two days after their earlier loss to Afghanistan in the semifinal of the event. Bangladesh had lost to India in the semis in what was a one-sided contest but will go back home with the bronze.
Bangladesh defeated Pakistan in a rain-hit contest to win the bronze medal in men's cricket at the Asian Games 2023 on October 7. The contest was reduced to five overs a side when play was halted in the first innings. Pakistan had managed 48/1 at the end of five overs when rain came down and the contest had to be shortened.
