After suffering a second consecutive loss, the defending champions remained in seventh place with six points to their name. Batting first, Gujarat hammered 198/3 in 20 overs. Captain Shubman Gill played a classy knock of 90 off 55 deliveries with the help of 10 fours and three sixes. Sai Sudharsan slammed 52 off 36 deliveries, including seven boundaries. The duo stitched a 114-run stand for the opening wicket. Wicketkeeper-batter Jos Buttler played a quick-fire unbeaten knock of 41 runs. While chasing a daunting target, captain Ajinkya Rahane scored a fighting half-century.
