‘Never Said This’ Adam Gilchrist Reacts to Fake Quote of Him Saying Virat Kohli Is Being Rested To Protect Sachin Tendulkar’s Record
The former Australian wicketkeeper-batter was not very appreciative of the fact that a fake quote attributed to him was doing the rounds on social media and thus he called it out for fans to realise its authenticity. Virat Kohli has 77 international centuries, 23 short of the legendary Sachin Tendulkar's mark of 100.
Adam Gilchrist took to social media to rubbish a fake quote of him which stated that Virat Kohli is deliberately being rested to protect Sachin Tendulkar's record. The legendary Australian wicketkeeper-batter reshared the post on X, formerly Twitter which read, "Kohli is being rested on regular basis these days, I think they want Sachin's record to be unbeaten". While quoting the post of this quote, Gilchrist wrote, "Never said this." Kohli recently scored his 77th international hundred in the India vs Pakistan Super Four match in Asia Cup 2023.
