The spin bowler took to Twitter to explain his resignation, stating that he was not consulted at all by the Afghanistan Cricket Board in picking the team for the T20 World Cup 2021 and he made it clear that he longer wanted to continue as captain of the side, with immediate effect.
Rashid Khan, on Thursday, decided to step down from his role as captain of the national T20 side after he was picked to lead the team in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2021. He also explained his decision in a note on social media.
