The Lanka Premier League 2023 is currently ongoing in the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Although the league has been engaging, the pitches have not been suited to the boundary-heavy style of T20 cricket. Sanath Jayasuriya, former cricketer, criticised the pitches of the R Premadasa Stadium through his tweet and requested for pitches in the Qualifiers that would suit the aggressive and positive style of T20 Cricket.
