Virat Kohli's 50th ODI Century Features in ‘Epic Moments of 2023’ at Laureus World Sports Awards 2024
During the award ceremony in Madrid, the Laureus World Sports Awards highlighted some of the epic moments of 2023. Virat Kohli’s record-setting 50th century was also highlighted at the prestigious award function.
The Laureus World Sports Awards 2024 function took place in Madrid on 22nd April. Although no Cricketer won any award in the function, the ceremony was a moment of joy for Indian cricket fans. The montage showcasing some of the 'epic moments' in sport over the last year, prominently showcased the moment when India's star player, Virat Kohli, scored his 50th ODI century. Kohli became the first player to reach this landmark in his innings of 117 in the World Cup semifinal against New Zealand. This was a historic moment as he went past Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar's mark of 49. Sachin Tendulkar himself was present at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai to witness Kohli's great achievement.
