Virender Sehwag Pays Tribute to Soldiers, Officer Who Lost Their Lives in Anantnag Encounter, Writes ‘Indebted to Their Sacrifice for the Nation’
The former Indian cricketer expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased and saluted their sacrifice for the nation. Earlier, Irfan Pathan also mourned the loss of the soldiers and officer who died in the encounter with terrorists.
Virender Sehwag penned a message of tribute for the officer and soldiers who lost their lives in the Anantnag encounter. A gunfight with terrorists in the Kokernag area of Kashmir's Anantnag district saw Colonel Manpreet Singh, Major Ashish Dhonchak, Jammu and Kashmir police DSP Humayun Bhat and rifleman Ravi Kumar lose their lives. Taking to X, formerly Twitter, Sehwag wrote, "Heart goes out to the families of our great soldiers and officer who sacrificed their lives in an encounter in Anantnag.
