Speaking on his team's retention plans ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction, LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka said that the mindset was simple. In his statement he said 'The mindset was to go for players who have a mindset to win, players who put their team before their personal goals'. The statement came amidst speculations that former LSG captain KL Rahul was released due to a fall out with owner Mr. Goenka.
