Robert Lewandowski gave Bayern Munich the lead through a terrific strike in the 18th minute but Gladbach fought back with goals from Florian Neuhaus and Stefan Lainer to complete the comeback by half-time. Bayern missed a lot of players who were ruled out due to COVID-19 infections. Bayern had earlier lost 0-5 to Gladbach in the German Cup last year.
Bayern Munich were handed a shock 1-2 defeat by Borussia Monchengladbach in Bundesliga 2021-22 at the Allianz Arena on Saturday. Despite the defeat, Bayern stay on top of the Bundesliga table with 43 points from 18 games.
