With this victory, Chelsea not only advanced to the semifinals but also bagged their first win since December 11 when they beat Leeds United in the Premier League. This match against Brentford was a very closely-contested one with late goals sealing the fate of the tie.
Chelsea defeated Brentford in a hard-fought match to make it to the semifinals of the Carabao Cup 2021-22 on Thursday. An own goal from Pontus Janson gave Chelsea the lead in the 80th minute and it was doubled when Jorginho converted from the penalty spot five minutes later.
