Germany 2–1 France: Thomas Muller, Leroy Sane Score As Germans End Three-Match Losing Streak With Much-Needed Victory (Watch Goal Video Highlights)
The 2014 FIFA World Cup winners finally had something to be happy about as they bagged what was a very important victory, albeit in a friendly, against France. Thomas Muller and Leroy Sane scored for Germany while France had Antoine Griezmann pull one back.
Germany snapped a three-match losing streak with a much-needed 2-1 victory over France in an international friendly on Wednesday, September 13. The 2014 World Champions have had a terrible run of late, with their last victory coming against Peru in March, earlier this year. They had lost three back-to-back games, with the last of these defeats being against Japan which led to Hansi Flick being fired from his role as head coach. Thomas Muller opened the scoring in the fourth minute before Leroy Sane doubled the lead in the 87th. For France, Antoine Griezmann pulled one back through a penalty in the 89th but eventually, Germany held on to win the contest.
