La Liga Could Have Its Official Matches Played in USA in 2025-26 Season, Says Spanish League President Javier Tebas
The idea of hosting official La Liga matches is not a new one and was once put aside with the league having disagreements with the Spanish Football Federation. This would be a major move which could be followed by other leagues as well.
In a major development, La Liga president Javier Tebas has announced that the Spanish league could have its matches played in the USA in the 2025-26 season. Tebas, while speaking to Spanish Newspaper, was quoted saying, "I think it could be in the 2025-26 season, but La Liga will play official matches abroad." Tebas further added that America is the second market for La Liga football after Spain. Such a move would definitely build the game's popularity in America ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. ‘Its Cristiano Ronaldo’ Sprinter Usain Bolt Chooses Al-Nassr Forward Over Lionel Messi in Top Three Footballers of All-Time List.
