The 40-year-old put up a splendid display to win bronze medal in the Men's Shot Put F57 event. He also became the first para-athlete from Nagaland to win a medal at the Paralympic Games.
Hokato Hotozhe Sema won India's 27th medal at the Paris Paralympics 2024 and did so with a bronze in the Men's Shot Put F57 event on September 7. The 40-year-old, making his debut at the Paralympic Games, clinched a podium finish by registering his best effort of 14.65m. After winning the bronze medal, Sema, an armyman opened up on what was the 'lowest point' of his life when he lost a leg in a landmine during an operation. He further went on to add that after having an artificial limb, he learnt about the Paralympics in 2016 and started to train with an aim to make the nation proud on the global stage.
