WWE had its first pay-per-view after a historic WrestleMania 40 and it turned out to be a massive success with some magnificent contests being played out. Among the several matches, Cody Rhodes managed to retain his WWE Undisputed Championship with a hard-fought win over AJ Styles.
Cody Rhodes retained the WWE Undisputed Championship in his first-ever title defence, and a new member of the Bloodline who debuted as WWE Backlash 2024 took place in Lyon, France. The French crowd showcased their love for their favourite WWE wrestlers, for whom they cheered loud and hard all throughout the event. Rhodes beat AJ Styles in one of the best matches of the year so far to hold on to the title he won memorably at WrestleMania 40. Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair became the new WWE Women's Tag Team champions, beating the Kabuki Warriors. Damian Priest also beat Jey Uso to retain the WWE World Heavyweight title. Meanwhile, a new Bloodline member in Tanga Loa debuted, helping Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga beat Randy Orton and Kevin Owens. Bayley, too, had a successful title defence, beating Tiffany Stratton and Naomi.
