After Airtel, government-run BSNL has taken steps against the spam call menace in India. The telecom company launched the "BSNL Anti-Spam Initiative", which uses cutting-edge technology to safeguard users from unwanted calls and messages. Last month, TRAI mandated telecom service providers to curb the rising problem of spam calls, including pre-recorded and computer-generated from Unregistered Senders or Telemarketers (UTMs) using SIP, PRI or other telecom sources. Following this, Airtel launched its AI spam detection tech this week. The new anti-spam initiative taken by BSNL aims to increase the privacy of the users and align with the regulations of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India for a "cleaner telecom experience".
