Meta's WhatsApp platform has a vulnerability that reportedly allows the governments to find out who you message. The engineers warned Meta about this WhatsApp vulnerability, saying nations could monitor chats. According to a report by The Intercept, WhatsApp's security team issued an internal warning to colleagues. The report said that despite having WhatsApp's powerful encryption, it remained vulnerable to government surveillance. According to an engineer, government agencies bypassed their encryption to find out which users communicated with each other, their private group memberships and even their locations.
