On August 18, 2024, Deepinder Goyal shared a post emphasising Zomato's stance on using AI in their operations. While AI is utilised to make workflows efficient, Goyal indicated that AI-generated images for dishes in restaurant menus are strongly discouraged. He pointed out that such images are often misleading, leading to numerous customer complaints, which include breaches of trust, higher refunds and lower ratings. Zomato is urging restaurant partners to avoid using AI-generated dish images and start removing them from menus by the end of the month. Restaurant owners are encouraged to invest in real food photography and reach out to Zomato's catalogue support team for assistance and to schedule a photo shoot at catalogue@zomato.com to ensure authenticity in their menu presentations. Zomato New Update: Online Food Delivery Platform Introduces ‘Group Ordering’ Feature; Check Details.
