A senior Russian military officer has been wounded in a shooting in Moscow. Lt Gen Vladimir Alexeyev, a senior official in the GRU, Russia’s military intelligence agency, was shot several times inside a residential building in the city’s north-western outskirts and rushed to hospital, where his condition remains unknown. Alexeyev is the latest high-ranking military figure targeted in the Russian capital since Moscow launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine nearly four years ago.
