The former South African cricketer wasted no time to impress as he took a sharp catch to dismiss Johnathan Wells on 14 runs. ABD dived forward at the short-extra cover to take the catch and helped team-mate James Pattinson complete his five-wicket haul. AB de Villiers had a brilliant debut in BBL as along with the spectacular catch he also played a wonderful knock to guide his side to a crucial win. The match commentators were certainly impressed by this sensational low catch as one of them said ‘AB welcome to the heat, takes the catch, Jimmy Pattison has five’. The 35-year-old was invited to play for Brisbane Heat by skipper Chris Lynn during their time together in the 2018 Indian Premier League (IPL) season. The former South African captain had a great time with the bat as he played a brilliant inning of 40 runs from 32 deliveries which included five fours.
