Samad first played First-Class cricket in 2019, and in 24 matches, has stockpiled 1,240 runs, despite being renounced for his T20 skills during his Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) IPL stint.

In the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2024-25, Jammu and Kashmir are placed in Elite Group A and currently occupy the fourth spot with three points, while Odisha sitting on sixth with one point.
