According to a report by Times of India, IOA CEO Raghuram Iyer confirmed that discussions had taken place with BCCI CEO Hemang Amin regarding the cricket board's concerns over the allocated facilities. However, Iyer reiterated the IOA's position, stating, “All sports, athletes, coaches and the entire delegation are treated equally by IOA.” This stance means cricket will not receive separate accommodation simply because of the players' established preference for higher-end hotels.

BCCI's Accommodation Concerns

The BCCI's apprehension stems from the standard of accommodation designated by the Games organizers. The Indian men's team has been allotted the three-star APA Hotel Nagoya Ekimae, while the women's side is earmarked for the four-star Meitetsu Grand Hotel. Both arrangements involve twin-sharing rooms. This falls short of the five-star, single-occupancy rooms that Indian cricketers typically utilize during international assignments. Reports also indicate concerns over room sizes and broader logistical arrangements.

Advance Team to Inspect Facilities

In response, the BCCI is set to dispatch an advance team to Aichi-Nagoya next week to conduct a thorough inspection of the facilities. This includes evaluating the assigned hotels, the Kōrogi Sports Park cricket venue in Nisshin, and training facilities, before making a final determination. BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia previously assured that the board is prepared to establish its own logistical system if the official provisions do not meet their players' requirements.
