Will Jacks and Rehan Ahmed have pulled off a miracle, and England ensure that Pakistan remain alive in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, while New Zealand messed it up in final few overs. Jacks and Ahmed scored 44 off 16 to stop New Zealand's clear path to the semi-final. Dew came into effect in the final overs, as Glenn Phillips and Mitchell Santer got looted for 38 in the 18th and 19th over, respectively.

Will Jacks and Rehan Ahmed are playing knock of their lives, and the whole of Pakistan is rejoicing, including the national cricket team in Colombo. NZ need 16 off 10.

OUT! Rachin Ravindra manages to dismiss the big fish, as Sam Curran departs for 24. Curran is known for this power hitting abilites in the death, and could have posed a threat to the Black Caps. Curran goes for the big heave and holes out at deep mid-wicket. 

Poor fielding and some pedestrian bowling from New Zealand ensured that England remained in the contest. Sam Curran and Tom Banton have been allowed to score in boundaries, with spinners bowling loose deliveries. Both have added 31 off 26. 

Glenn Phillips and Rachin Ravindra have turned the match on its head, picking two crucial wickets in back-to-back overs. Tom Banton and Sam Curran are under immense pressure to keep the scoreboard ticking with spinners controlling the contest here. 

OUT! Glenn Phillips removes New Zealand's biggest hurdle to semi-finals, and England's in-form batter Harry Brook has to walk back. A tossed up delivery, and Brook tries to loft the ball, only to find the fielder at long-off. 

Some ordinary bowling from Cole McConchie sees England loot 13 runs from the bowler, and the Three Lions' total nears the 50-run mark.  Harry Brook and Jacob Bethell are dealing in only boundaries, hitting eight combined out of their 45-run stand. 

Post the fall of openers, Harry Brook and Jacob Bethell have provided some respite to the dressing room, scoring runs on loose deliveries. Both have added 26 in 16 balls, and will add as many runs as possible before the spinners come on.

A disastrous start for the Three Lions, and England lose their second wicket as well within a span of eight balls. Jos Buttler's poor run continues as Lockie Ferguson dismisses the opener for a duck. The only scorer for England, Phil Salt, departed for 2 off 4 to Matt Henry. 

A collapse in the final phase of the innings sees Black Caps end their innings on 159 for 7. The batters somehow managed to meander past the 150-run mark, thanks to Cole McConchie's 14 off 12. Spinners rulled roost for England in the death overs, as Rehan Ahmed, Will Jacks and Adil Rashid claimed six wickets between themselves. 

OUT! The last four overs have been poor for New Zealand, losing wickets of Glenn Phillips, Daryl Mitchell, and Mark Chapman. England are making things difficult for batters, with their spinners making life tough for hard-hitting batters.  Will Jacks cleans up dangerous Phillips for 39 off 28. 

The New Zealand innings is heading into the final phase, and have two-set batters Mark Chapman and Glenn Phillips in the middle. Both players are known to accelerate at will and will look to ensure Black Caps end with a big flourish. 

OUT! Much like Adil Rashid earlier, Rehan Ahmed provides a wicket for England in his first over. Rachin Ravindra went to pull a short ball, but failed to connect properly and miscued the ball into the fielder at deepmidwicket for a 13-ball 11. 

OUT! Adil Rashid is England's crisis man, and provides the Three Lions a breakthrough. Tim Seifert got deceived in the flight, and came out too much only to miss the ball and get himself stumped. 

After a subdued start in the first few overs, Finn Allen and Tim Seifert have announced themselves in the middle as soon as the spinner came on. The duo took 11 of Liam Dawson's first over, and then looted Archer for 16 runs in his third. The pair notched up 50-runs in 32 balls. 

Finn Allen and Tim Seifert have played cautiously and stopped themselves from playing the risky shots with the ball moving around. Jorfa Archer started his spell with a maiden, and has gone for just 8 in two overs. 

A brilliant over from Jofra Archer, which nearly got a wicket as Tim Seifert survived a close leg-before call. This is important for Finn Allen and Tim Seifert to provide Black Caps a brisk start here, and utilise the new ball.
