Both Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti Mandhana remained in the news after backing the coach Ramesh Powar for the much talked about controversy with Mithali Raj. Ramesh Powar even reapplied for the position but was overlooked by the BCCI. Instead, WV Raman went on to be the coach for the team. The spat between Mithali Raj and Ramesh Powar came out in open after the woman cricketer was dropped from the Indian squad for the semi-final match against England during the ICC T20 Women’s World Cup.
