That's It! Comfortable victory for India in the end. They were ahead of the required run rate since the start but were losing wickets on regular interval. It is the introduction of Washington Sundar, which brought more stability in the innings and Sundar played a gem of a knock alongside a good support from Jitesh Sharma. The duo finished off things in style for India and levelled series 1-1.

02 Nov, 16:53 (IST)

Out! Australia strike after a big over from Sean Abbott almost threw them out of the game. Sean Abbott was absolutely smashed by Washington Sundar in the 14th over, but Xavier Bartlett kept Australia alive by dismissing Tilak Varma in the next over. It was a change of pace delivery, Tilak tried to ramp it but doesn't find enough timing to clear the wicketkeeper. India still ahead with Jitesh Sharma and Shivam Dube to come. Tilak Varma c Josh Inglis b Bartlett 29(26).

02 Nov, 16:43 (IST)

Out! One more time it is Nathan Ellis who strikes. It is another surprise bouncer from him and it gets big on Axar Patel who gets late on the pull. Rises sharply on him and could only manage a top edge which was caught brilliantly by Xavier Bartlett. India keeps scoring fast but is losing wickets as well. Axar c Bartlett b Nathan Ellis 17(12).

02 Nov, 16:32 (IST)

Despite losing Shubman Gill and Suryakumar Yadav in quick succession, India have not slowed down and Tilak Varma has landed some good shots to keep India ahead of the required run rate. They have the batting depth and will only need to keep composure to close down the game. Australia will want wickets.

02 Nov, 16:21 (IST)

Out! Suryakumar Yadav departs. Massive wicket for Australia in the context of the game. It is Marcus Stoinis who strikes. Slower one on length, Suryakumar Yadav tried to punch it from the backfoot. The ball zipped off the surface and Suryakumar couldn't keep it down. The ball lobbed to the hands of the cover fielder. India got a solid start but lost two wickets quickly. Suryakumar Yadav c Nathan Ellis b Stoinis 24(11).

02 Nov, 16:13 (IST)

Out! Shubman Gill's poor run with the bat in T20Is continue. It is Nathan Ellis again who strikes and makes the opening for Australia. Slower one on the stumps, Gill tried to work it to the onside but the ball dips and hits the pads of Gill in front of the wicket. On field umpire gave it out and DRS couldn't save Gill. Crucial wicket for Gill. Gill lbw b Nathan Ellis 15(12).

02 Nov, 15:57 (IST)

Out! Massive wicket for Australia. Abhishek Sharma moves across to take on Nathan Ellis. Ellis digs it in short and Abhishek committed to the pull. Didn't get enough contact and the ball just took a top edge to end in the gloves of wicketkeeper Josh Inglis. Ellis and others celebrate knowing how big a wicket this is.  Abhishek Sharma c Josh Inglis b Nathan Ellis 25(16).

02 Nov, 15:53 (IST)

Abhishek Sharma has been the man in form for India and he has already provided India the start they wanted. Some solid shots ended being boundaries and India are off the blocks quickly. They will hope Abhishek stays for enough time to power India ahead in the game.

02 Nov, 15:20 (IST)

Australia finished their innings strongly, thanks to cameos from Marcus Stoinis and Matthew Short, who scored 64 and 26*, respectively, as the hosts managed 186 for 6. Arshdeep Singh was the pick of India's bowlers with three wickets, while for Australia, Tim David shone the brightest with the bat, hitting a brisk 74 off 38. The highest run-chase in Hobart is 177.

02 Nov, 15:16 (IST)

OUT! Arshdeep Singh gets Marcus Stoinis for 64. The Australian all-rounder looked primed to help Australia reach the 200-run mark, but failed while hitting a big shot over long-off. This time, Rinku Singh takes the catch with ease. Marcus Stoinis c (sub)Rinku Singh b Arshdeep Singh 64(39)

02 Nov, 15:06 (IST)

FIFTY! Marcus Stoinis finally comes into his own this innings. Stoinis has raced to his sixth half-century in the format, taking merely 31 balls, laced with six fours and two sixes.

02 Nov, 14:56 (IST)

Since the wicket of Tim David, the run-rate has managed to come down a bit. An important little phase of cricket for Australia, with Marcus Stoinis and Matthew Short looking to end the innings with a flourish.

02 Nov, 14:47 (IST)

OUT! Tilak Varma takes yet another stunning catch in the outfield, which brings the end of an entertaining innings from Tim David. David wanted to hit a flat six over long-off, but managed to find Varma, which gave Shivam Dube a wicket, coming off the final delivery of his innings. Tim David c Tilak Varma b Shivam Dube 74(38)

02 Nov, 14:39 (IST)

The rebuilding has started again for Australia, with Tim David and Marcus Stoinis batting in the middle. The duo have added 25 off 15, with David doing most of the scoring. Australia are also nearing the 100-run mark.

02 Nov, 14:29 (IST)

OUT! Two-in-two for Varun Chakaravarthy as Mitch Owen gets cleaned up for a first-ball duck. Chakaravarthy brought out the googly, which deceived Owen, who had no clue about the ball. Mitchell Owen b Varun Chakaravarthy 0(1)

02 Nov, 14:27 (IST)

OUT! Mitchell Marsh's sorry stay in the middle comes to an end, as Varun Chakaravarthy's change in pace hands India a much-needed wicket. Marsh wanted to heave the ball over long-on but could only manage to hand a catch to well-placed Suryakumar Yadav. Mitchell Marsh c Tilak Varma b Varun Chakaravarthy 11(14)

02 Nov, 14:22 (IST)

FIFTY! Tim David has raced to his ninth half-century in the format, taking merely 23 balls. This is David's third T20I in 2025 alone. Thanks to David's 50, the stand between Mitchell Marsh and the all-rounder has crossed 50 runs as well.

02 Nov, 14:17 (IST)

Tim David is on the attack and is nearing his ninth half-century for Australia. David has nonchalantly smashed Indian spinners, while adding 43 runs with Mitchell Marsh for the second wicket. This is David's home ground, where he plays for Hobart Hurricanes in the BBL.

02 Nov, 14:09 (IST)

So, India have made their first change in bowling, and Varun Chakaravarthy has replaced Jasprit Bumrah. Tim David has taken a liking to Chakaravarthy in the power play and looted the spinner for 11 runs. The stand between Tim David and Mitchell Marsh is crucial for Australia, who are looking to rebuild the innings.

02 Nov, 13:59 (IST)

OUT! Arshdeep Singh is on a roll and managed to get his second wicket in as many overs. Josh Inglis wanted to play an aggressive shot, but could only find the fielder standing at backward square-leg. Josh Inglis c Axar b Arshdeep Singh 1(7)

The major reason behind India's loss in IND vs AUS 2nd T20I 2025 was the lack of application by batters, and Josh Hazlewood's exceptional Test match bowling. Abhishek Sharma was the only silver lining for India in their loss at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

However, the batters will be relieved to see no Hazlewood in Australia's squad for the remainder of the tour, with the pace bowler opting to prepare for Ashes 2025-26 by playing domestic cricket. Coach Gautam Gambhir will be under the microscope once again, given India's poor selection and decisions in Melbourne, which left the bowling unit sub-par. IND vs AUS 3rd T20I 2025, Hobart Weather, Rain Forecast and Pitch Report: Here’s How Weather Will Behave for India vs Australia Cricket Match at Bellerive Oval.
