It is the introduction of Washington Sundar, which brought more stability in the innings and Sundar played a gem of a knock alongside a good support from Jitesh Sharma. The duo finished off things in style for India and levelled series 1-1.

Sean Abbott was absolutely smashed by Washington Sundar in the 14th over, but Xavier Bartlett kept Australia alive by dismissing Tilak Varma in the next over. It was a change of pace delivery, Tilak tried to ramp it but doesn't find enough timing to clear the wicketkeeper. Out! One more time it is Nathan Ellis who strikes. It is another surprise bouncer from him and it gets big on Axar Patel who gets late on the pull. Despite losing Shubman Gill and Suryakumar Yadav in quick succession, India have not slowed down and Tilak Varma has landed some good shots to keep India ahead of the required run rate. They have the batting depth and will only need to keep composure to close down the game. Australia will want wickets.

Slower one on the stumps, Gill tried to work it to the onside but the ball dips and hits the pads of Gill in front of the wicket. On field umpire gave it out and DRS couldn't save Gill. Out! Massive wicket for Australia. Abhishek Sharma moves across to take on Nathan Ellis. Ellis digs it in short and Abhishek committed to the pull. Didn't get enough contact and the ball just took a top edge to end in the gloves of wicketkeeper Josh Inglis. Abhishek Sharma has been the man in form for India and he has already provided India the start they wanted. Some solid shots ended being boundaries and India are off the blocks quickly. They will hope Abhishek stays for enough time to power India ahead in the game. 

Australia finished their innings strongly, thanks to cameos from Marcus Stoinis and Matthew Short, who scored 64 and 26*, respectively, as the hosts managed 186 for 6. Arshdeep Singh was the pick of India's bowlers with three wickets, while for Australia, Tim David shone the brightest with the bat, hitting a brisk 74 off 38. The highest run-chase in Hobart is 177.

Since the wicket of Tim David, the run-rate has managed to come down a bit. An important little phase of cricket for Australia, with Marcus Stoinis and Matthew Short looking to end the innings with a flourish.

The rebuilding has started again for Australia, with Tim David and Marcus Stoinis batting in the middle. The duo have added 25 off 15, with David doing most of the scoring. Australia are also nearing the 100-run mark.

FIFTY! Tim David has raced to his ninth half-century in the format, taking merely 23 balls. This is David's third T20I in 2025 alone. Thanks to David's 50, the stand between Mitchell Marsh and the all-rounder has crossed 50 runs as well. 

Tim David is on the attack and is nearing his ninth half-century for Australia. David has nonchalantly smashed Indian spinners, while adding 43 runs with Mitchell Marsh for the second wicket. This is David's home ground, where he plays for Hobart Hurricanes in the BBL. 

So, India have made their first change in bowling, and Varun Chakaravarthy has replaced Jasprit Bumrah. Tim David has taken a liking to Chakaravarthy in the power play and looted the spinner for 11 runs. The stand between Tim David and Mitchell Marsh is crucial for Australia, who are looking to rebuild the innings.
