Ravichandran Ashwin finished as the highest wicket-taker as India chastened an under-transition South Africa team 3-0 at home to complete their first-ever Test series whitewash over the Proteas in Test history. Ashwin, who equalled spin legend Muttiah Muralitharan's record of becoming joint-fastest to complete 350 Test wickets, ended the three-match Test series at 15 wickets. Mohammed Shami was second on the list with 13 wickets that included a five-wicket haul. India have dominated Test cricket in recent times and also defeated West Indies 2-0 in their last assignment with the red ball. The Virat Kohli-led side lost only one Test at home in the six years.
