The first T20 International between India and Australia played at Vizag turned out to be a cracker of a match with Australia winning the game on the last ball to beat India by 3 wickets in a nail biting finish. Batting first in the match, India could only manage a total of 126 on the board, thanks to some tight bowling by Australians and poor shot selection by Indian batsmen. KL Rahul top scored for India with 50 but it was Mahendra Singh Dhoni's 29 not out that has become the most talked about innings and the former Indian captain is being trolled on Twitter for his innings despite Dhoni's 29 helping India to reach a fighting total and his runs proving crucial at the end. MS Dhoni faced 37 deliveries to score 29 not out and had come to bat in the ninth over after Rishabh Pant's dismissal. For Australia, Glenn Maxwell played a crucial knock of 56. Darcy Shot scored an important 36, but his run out left the game open. India made a strong comeback thanks to some superb bowling by Bumrah in the depth overs. Finally, India was left to defend 14 runs in the last over bowled by Umesh Yadav. Australia stole a double on the last ball to win the game.

Indian captain Virat Kohli, speaking at the post match presentation, said that he was proud of the bowlers effort. He also added that 150 would have been a winning total on this ground. The Indian captain called Australia a better side on the day and said they deserved to win.
