India vs England Live Cricket Score - 3rd ODI Match - Summary

End of Over : 44.3 ENG: 260/2

Okay then! End of a fairly one-sided ODI series. The T20Is were more competitive, in my opinion. India won that 2-1 while England have done that in the ODIs. The teams now get ready for a 5-match Test series and surprisingly, neither side has announced its squad yet. That begins on the 1st of August, 2018 at Edgbaston, Birmingham. That is all from us for tonight. Before we leave, please do follow cricket from other parts of the world - Zimbabwe playing Pakistan, Sri Lanka taking on South Africa and of course, Windies playing Bangladesh. Plenty of cricket. Take some rest for now. ADIOS! TAKE CARE!

44.3 4

FOUR! CENTURY FOR ROOT, SERIES FOR ENGLAND! What a knock... consecutive tons for the man who was 'out of form'. A high full toss outside off, Root heaves it over mid-wicket and finds the boundary! First, we check whether it is a waist high no ball, but it is fine and Root hugs his skipper! Well played, England. Well played, Root.

44.3 1

WIDE! The crowd goes 'BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!' to Pandya now. He bowls a really bad delivery, way outside off, so far that Root cannot reach it. The poor batsman looks dejected as the scores are level now and he still needs 4...

44.2 0

Full and wide outside off, Joe slashes hard but misses.

44.1 2

Excellent fielding by Dinesh Karthik! Guess who will be the happiest seeing that? Joe Root. He pulls this short delivery outside off towards deep mid-wicket and nearly gets it to the fence. That would have sealed the match with Root stranded on 98. But Dinesh Karthik gets to the ball from mid-wicket and pulls it back in! Two runs taken, now he is still in with a chance to get his ton! England need 2, he needs 4!

End of Over : 44 3 Runs ENG: 253/2
43.6 0

'ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!' goes the crowd. Can he get to his century with a biggie? A short ball around off, Morgan looks to defend but gets a thick inside edge onto his pads. Thakur finishes with figures of 10-0-51-1. Bowled decently though.

43.5 0

Is that a nick? No... if you are an opposition of India today. A touch short outside off, Morgan flashes hard but misses.

43.4 0

On a length around off, coming in, watchfully defended.

43.3 0

The batsman has played that off the front foot and into the ground.

43.3 1

WIDE. Full and wide outside off, Eoin reaches out for that but misses.

43.2 1

Around off, worked through mid-wicket for a run. Okay... Root is still in with an outside chance... if Morgan takes a single and Root hits the final ball for a six...

43.1 1

Outside off, pushed towards cover for a single. Root needs 7, England 6.

End of Over : 43 6 Runs ENG: 250/2
42.6 1

Landed outside off, on a length, pushed towards third man for another single. 250 UP FOR ENGLAND - Just 7 more needed at run-an-over.

42.5 1

Full and outside off, pushed towards mid off for one. The equation reads - England 8, Root 7.

42.4 1

Short and outside off, punched through point for a run.

42.4 1

ANOTHER WIDE! England 10, Root 8 now! Full and down the leg side, EM cannot get that fine.

42.4 1

WIDE. A slower bouncer, around off, Eoin lets it pass. The equation - England 11, Root 8.

42.3 0

DROPPED! Nothing... nothing is going right for India or Bhuvi today. A full toss on middle, Morgan chips it over mid on, or looks to, rather. He does not get enough on it and presents a fairly simple catch to Bhuvneshwar Kumar over there - who just spills it.

The third and final One-Day International between India and England takes place at  Headingley, Leeds. The IND vs ENG 3rd ODI 2018 will begin at 05:00 PM IST, with toss at 04:30 PM. After the 2-1 series win in T20Is, India will be looking to extend their dominance in ODI as well. Following the three-match ODI series, the two teams will also face-off in five Tests, beginning on August 01. And the Tests series ends with fifth and final Test on September 07. So, on a challenging England tour, India will be tested across formats.

The last time India toured England four years ago in 2014, the visitors lost the five-match series 3-1. However, the then MS Dhoni-led side did well to win the five-match ODI series 3-1. But lost the one-off T20I on the tour. It was India’s performance in the Tests that had them face some serious criticism. Star India batsman and now the captain of the side Virat Kohli managed only 134 runs from five matches and averaged just 13.40. Kohli has improved a lot since then with some good performances in Australia and South Africa. The right-hander, known for his determination, will be keen to dish out a solid performance this time around.

India and England have played 57 Tests in England. No surprises that the home team has won the majority, 30, of them. India have managed to win just six while 21 Tests between these two teams have ended in draws. When it comes to India vs England in ODIs in England, the home side have won 19 out of 38 matches. India, on the other hand, have won 15. In the game’s shortest format, India have lost all three T20Is so far against England in England.
