Pakistan pace spearhead Shaheen Shah Afridi has reached the milestone of 150 One-Day International wickets, achieving the landmark during Match 4 of the ODI Tri-Nation Series 2026 against England at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Entering the fixture on 149 wickets, the left-arm fast bowler made an immediate impact with the new ball to become one of the fastest bowlers in international cricket history to hit the 150-wicket mark. Shaheen Afridi Reaches 150 ODI Wickets
Taking the new ball after England opened their innings with Tom Banton and Ben Duckett, Afridi needed just five deliveries to claim his milestone wicket. After Banton struck a boundary amidst a string of dot balls, Afridi induced a mistimed chip off the penultimate ball of the opening over. All-rounder Arafat Minhas, who claimed a six-wicket haul against the same opposition in Rawalpindi earlier in the week, completed a simple catch at cover to dismiss Banton for four and hand Afridi his 150th ODI wicket.
Among the fastest to 150 ODI wickets
Reaching 150 wickets in his 80th ODI appearance places Afridi in an elite bracket of modern one-day bowlers. Only Australia's Mitchell Starc is ahead of Afridi, in terms of pacers reaching the figure in fewer games (77), and overall joint-fourth fastest putting the Pakistani fast bowler in company with the most potent strike bowlers in ODI history.
Since making his format debut in September 2018 against Afghanistan, Afridi has established himself as the anchor of Pakistan's white-ball bowling attack. His strike rate of under 27 balls per wicket and bowling average hovering around 24 rank among the best for any active fast bowler in international cricket.
