Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan who was forced to stay out of the team due to a thumb injury during CWC 2019, is now fully fit for India vs West Indies series which starts in Florida from August 2, 2019. As per the reports on Times Now, the Indian opener has now recuperated fully and Virat Kohli along with selector MSK Prasad will be picking up the side for the upcoming series in the next half an hour or so. Shikhar Dhawan was injured during India vs Australia CWC 2019 match after he was struck by a bouncer by Pat Cummins. Despite the injury, Dhawan kept going and scored 117 runs from 109 balls. Owing to the injury, he could not step on the field during the second innings. Dhawan was then taken to the hospital for scans and the MRI confirmed a thumb fracture. However, a couple of days ago, the Indian opener was seen taking up the Bottle Cap challenge. This was the first time he picked up the bat after his injury and in the first shot itself he was successful in removing the cap of the bottle. From the way, he batted the Indian opener looked very comfortable and the fans must be keeping their fingers crossed for Dhawan to get selected in the upcoming series.
