Shikhar Dhawan may have failed with the bat for Delhi but the star Indian opening batsman brought smiles on the faces of a hospital staff where he was taken following an injury during the Delhi vs Maharashtra game in Syed Ali Mushtaq Trophy 2019. Dhawan sustained a minor cut to his knee while fielding during the match and was later taken to the hospital a precaution. The 33-year-old livened up the hospital with his presence. His teammate Hardik Pandya, however, thought otherwise. The incident occurred during the Maharashtra vs Delhi encounter in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2019 in Surat. Delhi, asked to bat first, made 167-5 in 20 overs despite Dhawan only contributing 24 runs. Nitish Rana later took 4/17 as Delhi bundled Maharashtra for just 90 runs to secure a 77-run victory. Meanwhile, Dhawan is now expected to be out for at least 4-5 days following the injury. Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan React to Ajinkya Rahane’s Post on Pink Ball Test.

Shikhar Dhawan Livens Up Hospital

"We Fall, We Break, but then…. We Rise. We heal and we overcome, and the only thing you have control over is how you respond to any situation. Here’s to being positive and happy in every situation that life throws at you. Will be back in action in 4-5 days," said the Indian limited-overs opening batsman in a series of pictures on social media.

Dhawan's teammate Hardik Pandya, however, had something else to say and asked the 33-year-old if he had gone for injury check-up or was helping the entire hospital recover. “Haha Jatta pura hospital theek kar raha tha? (Were you helping the whole hospital recover?)," said Pandya, who is currently out of action.

Meanwhile, Pandya, who is yet to completely recover from the back surgery he had undergone last month, was left out of India's squad for the limited-overs series against West Indies. Dhawan, however, was named in both the ODI and T20I series squads, which starts December 6, 2019.
