New Delhi, July 9: The Phogat family, known for their achievements and  contribution in the field of wrestling, and whose story inspired the Bollywood blockbuster named Dangal, have been invited by the First Lady of South Korea Kim Jung-sook, who is accompanying her husband and South Korean President Moon Jae-in on a state visit to India from July 8 to 11. The South Korean First Lady has invited the Phogat family for a tea meeting as well.

According to media reports, South Korean First lady Kim Jung-sook is reportedly a fan of one of the highest grossing Bollywood films ever, Dangal and expressed a desire to meet the family on whose life the movie is based. The Phogat family would be meeting the first lady and have expressed their excitement at the news.

Geeta Phogat's cousin named Rahul Phogat was quoted by news channel NDTV saying that the First Lady of South Korea had watched the film with Indian students and she really liked the film expressing "keenness" to meet the family. The cousin informed that they were then contacted by the Korean Embassy officials and confirmed that the family would be meeting First Lady Kim Jung-sook.

Mahavir Phogat, whose role was played by actor Aamir Khan in the movie as the father who is determined to make his daughters wrestling champion, said that he is really happy about the film contributing positively to the relations of the two countries.
