HP Partners with OpenAI to Deploy Frontier AI Platform
HP Inc. has announced a strategic partnership with OpenAI to integrate the Frontier platform across its global operations. Following successful pilot programmes that began in February 2026, this collaboration will scale AI capabilities to enhance customer experiences and streamline internal workflows across the organisation.
As per official announcement by OpenAI, the partnership aims to transform HP's operations by embedding AI as a connective layer within its existing systems. The deployment will focus on key areas including customer and partner support, employee productivity, software development, and advanced device telemetry. Scaling AI from Pilots to Production
The transition to enterprise deployment follows several high-impact pilot successes. HP engineers have used OpenAI models to accelerate software delivery, with one instance resulting in 122 pull requests completed across 43 projects in mere weeks. Furthermore, the company’s security teams have successfully leveraged AI to remediate critical software bugs in a single day, a task that previously required significantly more time.
Frontier functions as the core operating model for this initiative, providing essential governance and integration tools to move AI projects from experimentation to production. By acting as a unified platform, Frontier enables HP to manage agent identities, establish clear access permissions, and audit AI actions, ensuring that deployments adhere to stringent enterprise security standards.
Driving Operational Efficiency
This partnership is designed to improve efficiency across several vital workstreams. In the channel ecosystem, which supports over 100,000 global partners, Frontier will create a consistent self-service layer to facilitate faster resolutions for routine queries. Within the Workforce Experience Platform, HP is using device telemetry to help AI reason across fleet health signals, enabling faster investigations into system crashes and connectivity issues. The cybersecurity division has also reported significant gains, unlocking approximately 82 hours of security-team capacity per week by using AI to proactively identify vulnerabilities. Additionally, teams are utilising ChatGPT and Codex to assist with complex tasks ranging from research and analysis to UI scaffolding and software delivery. This collaboration underscores HP’s commitment to building a secure, governed operating model that facilitates enterprise-wide digital transformation.
