Instagram now lets users promote tagged photos directly to their main profile grid, not just the Tagged tab. Posts can be added via DM notification, the three-dot menu, or by pressing and hold in Tagged tab. Visibility still depends on privacy settings, and posts can be rearranged or removed anytime.
Instagram has rolled out a new feature that allows users to promote tagged photos to their main profile grid, giving people more control over which posts represent them publicly beyond the standard Tagged tab. The Tagged tab will continue to exist as the place where all posts a user has been tagged in are collected, but select posts can now also be pushed to the primary grid for wider visibility.
According to Instagram, the feature is designed for favorite group photos, creator collaborations, and memorable moments, though the company has noted that users are free to add any tagged post they choose, not just the suggested categories.
How To Add A Tagged Post To Your Grid
There are multiple ways to move a tagged post onto the main grid. Users can do it directly from the DM notification they receive when tagged, or through the three-dot menu located in the upper right corner of the tagged post itself.
The option is also accessible by pressing and holding a post within the Tagged tab. Under the "Add to grid" button, a notice clarifies that visibility of the added post still depends on the privacy settings of both the user's account and the account of the person who originally tagged them. Removing Posts And Rearranging The Grid

However, the arrangement is not fixed. Posts can be reordered manually regardless of when they were originally created, building on Instagram's reordering feature introduced in June, which itself arrived roughly a year after it was first announced.
