A complaint filed with the House Ethics Committee alleges that Colorado Congresswoman Lauren Boebert slept with three of her congressional staffers, in violation of a House rule adopted after the #MeToo movement that bars members from having s*xual relationships with their own staff. The complaint was filed by David Wheeler of American Muckrakers, under penalty of perjury, and names Clarice Navarro, Raven Finegan and Jeffrey Small as the three staffers. Boebert has not yet responded to its contents, while Navarro has flatly denied the claims involving her. The allegations are unproven, and the complaint rests on a filing by a complainant who has made disputed claims about Boebert in the past.
USD 200,000 Payment Alleged
The most serious claim in the complaint concerns Navarro, who is now a Trump appointee at the USDA, reports said. It alleges that Boebert paid her USD 200,000 to prevent her from filing her own ethics complaint.
Navarro has rejected this outright. She told the Colorado Times Recorder, "These allegations regarding me are entirely false, defamatory, and beyond ridiculous. Three Staffers Named in the Complaint
Navarro served as Boebert's District Director from January 2021 to January 2025, and was earlier a three-term Colorado State Representative for House District 47. Finegan is Boebert's current District Chief of Staff, while Small was her chief of staff from 2021 to 2025.

Articles Cited, but No Relationship Alleged There
The complaint cites two Colorado Times Recorder articles about Boebert's whereabouts in October 2022 and January 2024. The publication itself pointed out that neither of those articles alleged any inappropriate relationship on her part.
Complainant's Earlier Claims Against Boebert
This is not the first time Wheeler has made claims about Boebert based on undisclosed sources. In June 2022, he launched a website claiming she had once worked as a paid escort. The site was full of errors, including an image of a woman who was not Boebert. Wheeler acknowledged the mistakes but stood by his underlying claim.
Boebert threatened to sue over the claims but never did. Wheeler then filed a defamation lawsuit against her over her public threats of legal action, which was eventually settled on undisclosed terms, according to the report.
Boebert's Background and Recent Stance on Staffer Treatment
Boebert was married to Jayson Boebert, and the two filed for divorce in 2023. Earlier this year, the Congresswoman issued a public invitation offering to help congressional staffers from both the Republican and Democratic parties if they felt their bosses were mistreating them.
