According to independent journalist Michael Elizondo, who filmed the arrests, he arrived at the scene after learning of significant police activity in the neighborhood. Authorities said Peña was found with multiple stab wounds after an alleged attack near a Sonic drive-through. She was taken to a hospital in San Antonio, where she later died from her injuries.
Investigators traced the incident back to an address in Del Rio before arresting the two sisters and Faz. All three suspects have been charged with murder and booked into a local jail.
Police have not released additional details about the motive or the circumstances leading to the attack, and the investigation remains ongoing.
The arrest video has generated widespread online discussion because of the suspects' apparent demeanor while being taken into custody, but authorities have not commented on the footage beyond confirming the arrests and charges.
